Emphasizes one-dimensional and three-dimensional illusional work, focusing on knowledge and skills in “corrective” aging and period makeup, with introductions to related areas, such as hair, hands, and prosthetics.

THEA 551, Costume Movement and Manners, 25-Student class
Team taught, main focus was to present costume history in various periods for movement and manners, and how to effectively wear period costumes used in theatre productions.

“This is a course for Actors, Directors, and Costume Designers! It specializes in organically integrating the mental attitudes with the physical costumes, movements, and manners appropriate to plays, musicals, and operas of three major time periods:
RENAISSANCE/ELIZABETHAN (1500-1620)
BAROQUE/ROCOCO (1660-1790)
LATE VICTORIAN/EDWARDIAN (1870-1910)”
THEA 442B, Costume Lab, 15-Student class
Supervised and taught students how to alter and build costumes for department productions.
THEA 240B, Introductory Course to Costume Design Lab, 15-20-Student class
Successfully taught beginning costume construction skills and techniques including basic hand stitches and how to use a sewing machine, culminating in a finished garment.
